This beautiful two to three-bedroom traditionally built home has been tastefully re-decorated leaving plenty of unique features that help set the home apart from the “run of the mill”. The property has gas central heating, is double glazed throughout, and has a light and airy feel. Although located only a short distance from the center of Alness, the house and its garden are very secluded. Set in 19th century grounds the property comes with an expansive garden with mature trees, including fruit trees, a wide variety of plants, numerous garden features and secluded areas, a shed, space for a garage and garden chalet. The garden is enclosed by wooden fences and mature hedges making it private, sheltered, and quiet. A car park with a car port to the front provides ample off-road parking for more than 2 cars. Alness is located on the shores of the beautiful Cromarty Firth just 20 miles north of Inverness. The town is comprised of two parishes, Alness and Rosskeen, divided by the River Averon. Alness was originally a small crofting township opposite the old Kirk at Rosskeen. Since then the town has grown significantly and is now a vibrant, rural town of approximately 6,000 inhabitants, its main expansion was in the nineteenth century at the hands of Captain Hugh Munro of Teaninich, who also founded Teaninich Distillery in 1817. Alness has a wide variety of shops, businesses, hotels, the Alness campus of the University of the Highlands and Islands, a secondary school and three primary schools offering a good level of education, with a focus on the community. The picturesque High Street has had great success with 'Britain in Bloom' and won the coveted title of 'Best High Street in Scotland' at the Great British High Street Awards in 2018. The town has a tremendous sense of community, and the many activities available in Alness, include clubs and leisure activities, a golf course and bowling, along with many scenic and historic walks to explore nearby. The nearest train station is Alness 0.4 of a mile from the property. Alness is located 21 miles north of Inverness, 3.5 miles SW of Invergordon, and 11 miles NE of Dingwall.
